"The Prescription for the cultural needs of the Tunisian-American community"
The Ibn Khaldun-USA Program was developed by the Tunisian Community Center to symbolize our community’s pride in its Tunisian Heritage and to reflect our mission of Community Building and Cultural Diplomacy.
It was named after the 14th Century Tunisian philosopher, statesman and universally acknowledged father of sociology, Ibn Khaldun . The author of the muquaddimah's name came to represent the spirit of kinship and solidarity, and his work effectively underscored the relationship between Culture and Environment.
In this regard, the Program aims to be a civilian channel that promotes people-to-people interactions and mutual understanding between the Tunisian and the American cultures. That dual cultural ambassadorship is exemplified by the following four Program components: The Tunisian Student Federation.
