Vision

The Ibn Khaldun Institute is a component of the Tunisian Community Center's Ibn Khaldun-USA Program. It aims to be the primary dedicated organization of Tunisian American academics, scholars, scientists, researchers, professionals, managers and artists (referred to as professionals in brief) in the United States.

The Ibn Khaldun Institute is a secular organization. It is respectful of the diversity of religion and political opinion of its members and is open to all Tunisian American professionals.

Objectives

  • Serve as a network connecting Tunisian professionals living in the United states by promoting and encouraging communications and exchanges among them.
  • Act as a bridge to similar networks in Tunisia and develop exchange programs in fields including culture, the arts, sciences, education, business and technology.
  • Enhance the understanding of Tunisian culture and promote a greater sense of Tunisian identity in the United States.
  • Organize the Ibn Khaldun Award program:
    • Nominations: Members of the Ibn Khaldun Institute will nominate candidates to serve on the Award Selection Committee.
    • Management:  They will nominate or hire a manager to organize and run the annual Hafla.
    • Funding: They will contribute to the effort of the Tunisian Community Center to raise the funds necessary for the Ibn Khaldun Award Program and the Hafla.
    • Public Relations: They will contribute to furthering the visibility of Tunisian American community by disseminating information in relevant publications, communities and media.
